What Cristiano Ronaldo told me – Victor Osimhen

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, has shared an encounter with football icon Cristiano Ronaldo when the Al Nassr star was playing for Juventus in Serie A in 2021.

Osimhen told Daddy Freeze that he had to wait for as long as one hour just to get a selfie with Ronaldo.

The Nigerian international had the opportunity to meet Ronaldo after Napoli’s 1-0 win over Juventus in 2021.

“I said to him, ‘Chris, I would like to take a picture with you.’ He said, ‘Yeah, come to the dressing room,’” Osimhen recalled.

Osimhen said he rushed to the Old Lady dressing room, still in his match kit and had to wait for a very long period for the Portugal international to show up.

Before seeing Ronaldo on that day, Osimhen had to meet legendary former goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who helped locate the Portuguese.

“Buffon saw me, came to me, and asked what I wanted. He went to the gym and told me Ronaldo was working out, told me to sit with him,” Osimhen said.

“We were just talking, it was almost 30 minutes, he was not out yet. I waited for one hour, he was still working out.”

Ronaldo graciously posed for a selfie, even encouraging Osimhen to take more photos.

“He said, ‘Great game, just keep on going,’ and I shook his hand,” Osimhen added.

“Nobody is surprised seeing Ronaldo doing what he’s doing now, but he’s actually a great personality.”

Osimhen scored 37 goals in all competitions for Juventus that season.
