The Super Falcons on Monday shortlisted six nominees for the Fans’ Player of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, tournament.
In a post via their official X account, the Super Falcons said all the nominees “showed up when it mattered most for the team.”
They, however, urged fans to decide through their votes who among the six players deserved the award.
DAILY POST reports that the six players shortlisted for the award are Jennifer Echegini, Esther Okoronkwo, Ashleigh Plumptre, Folashade Florence Ijamilusi, Rasheedat Ajibade and Chinwendu Ihezuo.
Recall that the Super Falcons of Nigeria emerged victorious at the WAFCON in Morocco.
Justine Pwanidi Madugu’s side defeated the host nation, Morocco, 3-2 in the final played at the weekend.
Okoronkwo, Ijamilusi and Echegini scored the goals for Nigeria against Morocco in the final as the Super Falcons lifted their 10th WAFCON title.
