WAFCON 2024: Michelle Alozie prays for South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado

Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie, has reacted to her side’s 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON semi-final 2-1 victory over South Africa on Tuesday evening.

Alozie also offered prayers for South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado to recover swiftly after she sustained a serious injury during the encounter.

Recall that two goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Alozie secured the win for Nigeria against Banyana Banyana at the Stade Larbi Zaouli.

Reacting, Alozie, in a post via her social media account after the game, said: “COUNT IT!!!!! see you in the finals.”

She added, “Prayers to Gabriela Salgado. Speedy recovery.”

Nigeria will now face the winner between Morocco and Ghana in the WAFCON final this weekend.

Meanwhile, South Africa are the current holders of the WAFCON, having won the previous edition of the tournament.
