The Oversight Committee in the US House of Representatives has issued a slew of subpoenas to former and current government officials for testimony related to its investigation into the Epstein files.
Subpoenas were issued to the US Department of Justice for records related to the case involving Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are among those who have also been issued subpoenas seeking depositions.
The letter issued by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to various individuals says it unanimously voted to approve a motion for the issuing of subpoenas, including one addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondi seeking the full, complete and unredacted Epstein Files.
Subpoenas also went out to the Clintons and former Democratic and Republican Attorneys General Merrick Garland, Bill Barr, Alberto Gonzales, Jeff Sessions, Loretta Lynch, and Eric Holder.
Former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller have also been ordered to testify.
The Oversight panel says it may use the results of its investigation to inform legislative solutions to improve federal efforts to combat sex trafficking.
