The United Arab Emirates, UAE, has again imposed fresh conditions on Nigerians who are planning to travel through the country, banning transit visa applications.
This latest directive was communicated to travel agents on Tuesday.
The directive indicates that Nigerians between 18 and 45 years are restricted from obtaining tourist visa unless accompanied.
The notification added that applicants who are 45 years or above “must provide a Single Nigerian personal bank statement for a period of last six months, with each month’s end balance reflecting a minimum ending balance of USD 10,000 or its naira equivalent.”
Nigerians who are planning to apply for the visa, have been further advised to take these into consideration, before sending other existing documents such as hotel reservation, data page, etc.”
This comes only one year after the UAE and Nigeria resolved a two-year visa ban placed on Nigerians.
