Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that the United States must face consequences for its overnight strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calling the attacks a blatant act of aggression.

Speaking in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron today, Pezeshkian said, “The Americans must receive a response to their aggression,” according to a statement from Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.

Shortly after the call, Pezeshkian joined mass protests in Tehran, where large crowds rallied in central squares chanting, “Revenge, revenge!” as seen in live broadcasts on state TV.

The president was filmed walking through the demonstration, surrounded by supporters raising their fists in defiance.

The statement and public appearance come amid rising regional tensions following the U.S. military’s coordinated strikes, alongside Israel, on Iran’s Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities.

Iran has not yet announced what form its response will take, but military leaders have hinted at “measured retaliation.”
