The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has strongly criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing it as a ‘bad market.’

The opposition party further declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has failed the Nigerian people and would be voted out in the 2027 general elections.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made the remarks on Monday in Abuja during an interactive session with journalists.

Ologunagba stated that PDP was restructuring its internal systems in preparation to offer Nigerians a credible and dependable alternative come 2027.

According to him, the APC-led government had plunged the nation into worsening economic hardship, deepening insecurity, and growing despair, while PDP remained the only political platform with the national reach and institutional legacy to salvage the country.

“This is a government that tells people to fast while they are feasting. No patriotic or humane Nigerian, no political group or party that truly feels the pain of the people, will support President Tinubu in 2027. His presidency is bad market,” Ologunagba said.

He further accused APC of losing touch with the grassroots, fomenting instability within opposition parties, and mismanaging the economy to the point where infrastructure and public services were collapsing.

The PDP spokesman also raised concerns about the state of national security, citing recent killings in Plateau State and the reported assault on a PDP candidate from Anambra State in Abuja. He described these incidents as evidence that insecurity had become ‘a new normal.’

He emphasised that PDP’s strength lies not in officeholders but in its loyal and resilient grassroots base.

“Our strength is in the people. Despite elite defections, our grassroots membership remains intact. People are not defecting because of the hunger and insecurity they face. They are standing by the PDP because we connect with their reality,” he added.
