The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced a scheduled six-hour power outage affecting parts of Oyo State.

Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.

She explained that the blackout is due to planned maintenance on one of the company’s 60 megavolt-ampere 132/33 kilovolt power transformers at the Ayede Transmission Substation, scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

“The six-hour maintenance will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. Consequently, Ibadan DisCo will be unable to supply electricity to customers in Eleyele, Lanlate, and Apata on the specified date.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause electricity customers supplied from the transformer. We equally appreciate your understanding during the period of power interruption, which is necessary for our maintenance crew to ensure a safe working environment.

“Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed,” she stated.
