Switch: Man Utd full Emsden -James’ signing

Manchester United have completed the signing of teenage centre-back Harley Emsden-James.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Emsden-James has joined United from Southampton’s academy.

The 16-year-old, who is highly regarded, has swapped St Mary’s Stadium for Old Trafford this summer.

Reacting, the defender shared photos of his unveiling on his Instagram account, with the caption: “Proud and grateful to sign for United.

“A dream come true and the start of an exciting new chapter. Can’t wait to get started.”

This comes less than 48 hours after Manchester United defeated West Ham United 2-1 in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Recall that a brace from Bruno Fernandes gave Ruben Amorim’s side the victory against West Ham at the MetLife Stadium.
