Al-Ittihad sporting director, Ramon Planes, has insisted that Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Junior, would move to Saudi Arabia.

Planes refused to rule out a move for the Brazilian winger as the player’s contract with Real Madrid expires in 2027, and he is yet to sign a new deal.

Vinicius’ new wage demand is said to have stalled negotiations as Los Blancos are apparently ready to cash in on him next summer amid interest from the Middle East.

Planes told Marca that Vinicius Jr is part of Saudi’s long-term project.

“I don’t rule it out. I think it’s part of the idea and plan to be one of the most powerful leagues in the world,” he said.

“Vinicius could be part of that plan, to allow players to come at an important moment in their careers. He has everything going for him,” said Planes.

Planes, who was Barcelona’s sporting director from 2018 to 2021, added that the Brazilian winger has all the prerequisites to join clubs in the SPL.

Vinicius has played 322 games across competitions for Los Blancos, scoring 106 goals and making 83 assists.
