There’s tension in Jesse Community, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State, as suspected Fulani herdsmen have allegedly attacked and killed a man, Ayo Abuneke, on his farm for confronting them.

A son of the deceased, who went with him to the farm, fled the scene as a result of the attacks and raised an alarm in town.

It was learnt that the deceased arrived at his farm when he saw the herdsmen destroying his crops and challenged them.

The herdsmen, without any waste of time, drew out daggers and other dangerous weapons, attacked, and killed him.

They even attempted to kill the son, who managed to escape from the scene of the incident.

At the time of this report, some Hausa indigenes, who are residents in the town are now running for fear of reprisal attacks by angry youths of Jesse Community, who are set to avenge the death of the deceased on any northerner.
