Shock as ANC Councillor in Mamelodi is killed in a hail of bullets – SABC Information

ANC in Tshwane says it is dismayed by the brutal murder of its Mamelodi Ward 10 councillor. Thabang Masemola was killed in a hail of bullets by unknown gunmen who opened fire on him on Tuesday.

The motive for the killing is not yet known.

ANC Tshwane Spokesperson, Bafuze Yabo, has called on law enforcement to take immediate action against what it says are politically motivated killings,

“It is quite disturbing that the spate of killings of councillors is not receding at a quick enough pace. It is getting more worrisome because many of these cases are never resolved with no successful arrests and convictions made. The ANC Greater Tshwane Region implores law enforcement agencies to investigate all the killings of councillors by bloodthirsty killers. This killing opens up old wounds from other councillors who fell to the barrel of a gun,” says Yabo.
