Several killed in alleged police shootout in Mthatha – SABC News

The R 61 road in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape has been closed to traffic as it is an active crime scene following an alleged police shootout, which is believed to have led to the death of several people.

The incident happened at Rose and police are yet to elaborate on the motive.

SABC News has heard that the suspects are an alleged extortionist and five of his peers.
