The murder trial against three men accused of disposing of the remains of two women inside a pigsty at a farm in Sebayeng is set to start on Monday at the Polokwane High Court.

Pig farmer Zachariah Olivier, as well as farm employees Rudolf De Wet and William Musora, face charges of murder and attempted murder following the discovery of the decomposed remains of Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu inside a pigs’ enclosure last year in August.

The trio made their last brief appearance at the Mankweng Magistrate’s court back in February.

The number one accused, Olivier, appeared alone while attempting to secure bail; however, the court did not rule in his favour. Two other accused men, Zimbabwean national Musora and farm supervisor De Wet, did not proceed with their bail applications.

The trial is set to bring in new evidence following the discovery of the remains of the two women.
