Scaffolding collapse at Springfield Park Mall leaves one dead

A construction worker has died following a collapsed structure at a popular shopping centre at Springfield Park in Durban. Four others have been injured and taken to hospital.

ALS Paramedics Spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says initial reports are that a construction team was on a scaffolding when it gave way.

On arrival at the scene, paramedics found the injured had fallen about 6 metres to the ground and more ambulances were called to assist.
