ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says Africa is grappling with foreign interference with external attacks on sovereignty, independence, development and security.
Ramaphosa was addressing the four-day Liberation Movements Summit at Kempton Park in Ekurhuleni on Gauteng’s East Rand.
He says there has been ample evidence that international actors use the legitimate grievances of the people in developing economies to attack progressive governments.
” There’s a renewed offensive against transformation, progressive policies and multilateralism and re-weaponisation of global institutions and a deliberate effort to divide and control Africa through transactional diplomacy and economic cohesion. At the heart of this campaign lies battle for control. To meet present day challenges, we require urgent substantial and sustainable solutions to Africa’s challenges.”
