Phadi’s elimination from MKP bodes properly for the get together: Mkhwebane – SABC Information

MK Party Convenor in Mpumalanga Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has described the dismissal of Mary Phadi’s appeal as a full restoration order for the party.

Phadi has been removed from the uMkhonto weSizwe Party and her position in the provincial legislature.

The Mbombela High Court dismissed Phadi’s appeal yesterday, upholding the MK Party’s decision to terminate her membership. The ruling confirms Mkhwebane as the party’s provincial leader.

Mkhwebane says the decision brings stability ahead of the 2026 local elections.

“This has caused so much instability and challenges for uMkhonto weSizwe members in the province. Because as the main opposition party and the party which did well after the 2024 elections, we couldn’t be very much impactful. So, this is a very encouraging way forward for uMkhonto weSizwe in Mpumalanga.”
