The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced that both grades of petrol, 93 and 95, will decrease by 28 cents per litre at midnight.
However, the price of diesel is set to increase by 63 cents and 65 cents per litre, depending on the grade.
Illuminating paraffin is expected to increase by 43 cents per litre at retail level, while LP gas will see some reduction.
The Department’s Robert Maake says international factors have contributed to the fuel adjustments.
“LP Gas will decrease by 69 cents per kilogram and by 78 cents per kilogram in the Western Cape. The slightly lower price of oil during the period under review and the rand strengthened slightly against the US dollar, cushioning the prices by four to five cents per litre. The slate levy remains unchanged at zero cents per litre in the price structures of petrol and diesel.”
