Former Big Brother Naija housemate Chibuzor Iyele, better known as Hermes, has shared an emotional journey of growing up without his mother.

In a recent interview on WithChude, Hermes revealed that his mother left the family after his father’s financial situation took a turn for the worse.

He stated that despite the challenges, his father’s love and care helped him navigate the difficulties of his childhood.

The reality TV star revealed that his father, who was a former UNICEF employee, struggled to make ends meet after losing his job, forcing the family to move into an uncompleted building.

He stated that his mother left the family for seven years after the unfortunate incident.

“When things got bad, we moved into an uncompleted building. My mum didn’t want to come with us, so she left that night and didn’t return for seven years,” he said.
Hermes further revealed that he has chosen not to harbor any resentment towards her.

However, he attributes his father’s unwavering love and dedication to raising him and his siblings as the reason he still holds love for his mother.

“My dad raised us with love, and that’s why I still have love for my mum today. Their marriage wasn’t happy, and maybe she just did what she had to do,” Hermes explained.
