Having made his mark across various facets of the entertainment industry, seasoned emcee and media personality, Edwin Katamba popularly known as MC Kats, is now charting a new course, this time in band music.
The celebrated former Xpozed TV presenter has launched the Kats Music Band, a group set to focus on soul, R&B, and gospel genres.
“We’ve started a band, but ours is more into soul, RnB, and gospel music,” Kats revealed.
An official launch for the band is scheduled for next Tuesday at Villa Lounge in Bukoto. However, Kats remained tight-lipped about the band’s lineup, saying the members and their identities will be revealed during the launch event.
MC Kats is no stranger to Uganda’s entertainment scene. He has emceed some of the country’s most high-profile events and fronted major TV programs. His career began at WBS TV, later transitioning to NTV and then NBS, where he currently co-hosts After 5.
In addition to his TV work, Kats manages the music career of singer Fille Mutoni. He has also dabbled in music himself, collaborating on tracks like No Condom No Sex (with various artists), Love Commissioner (with David Lutalo and Rema Namakula), Brag About God (with Ntaate), Believer (with An-Known), and Wakikuba (with Sheebah).
With his latest venture, MC Kats is adding yet another dimension to his dynamic career in Ugandan entertainment.
