Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) President Julius Malema has campaigned for his party ahead of the most anticipated by-elections at his hometown of Seshego near Polokwane, Limpopo.
Ward 13 at Seshego Zone-1 is expected to be tightly contested on Wednesday. The ward became vacant after an EFF councilor was removed from the Polokwane municipal council.
Malema has told party supporters that African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula, on Saturday told him that ANC will take the ward from the EFF. But Malema has urged the voters to ensure that the ward is retained by the EFF.
“He said the ANC is going to take my ward, I told him he is welcome to come and I am also going to vote here because this is my ward. So, don’t make a mistake on Wednesday, you must go and vote for the EFF. When they announce the results and say EFF has won you must say that was obvious.”
