The Lungu family, through its lawyers, has filed papers seeking leave to appeal the entire full bench judgment to the Supreme Court of Appeal arguing that the full court made a series of errors.
This follows the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria’s judgment which ruled that the Zambian government is entitled to repatriate its former President, Edgar Lungu’s body, for the purposes of a formal State funeral and burial.
This latest development means that the repatriation process cannot begin until the appeal process is complete.
