A Limpopo police officer and two co-accused are expected to continue their bail application in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today.

Sergeant Rachel Kutumela, her sister Anna Shokane and daughter Florah Shokane were arrested in October last year.

They face charges including murder, insurance fraud, money laundering and benefiting from the proceeds of crime.

Investigating officer Captain Keshi Mabunda is expected to continue testifying to oppose bail.

Mabunda has thus far told the court that the state has a strong case against the accused.

He has said that there are records that show that the three would transfer funds to each other after receiving insurance payouts following the death of their victims.

Mabunda also testified that the accused would falsify documents when they took out policies on some of the deceased.
