Kimberley household pleads for arrests in Shanay Solomons brutal killing – SABC Information

The Kimberley family of a 29-year-old woman whose body was found half-naked with multiple stab wounds in the veld, says police must move quickly to arrest the culprits.

The body of Shanay Solomons was discovered by a passerby in thick bushes near her home in Colville.

Police say a postmortem will determine if she was raped before being killed.

Solomon’s aunt, Charlene Hendricks, says, “She was ill, she was a smoker, she was drug addicted, but she was clean for a while. I found out yesterday that she was smoking again. According to her parents, she was on drugs again. But it was so hurtful. I cannot explain it because we waited for the police for two hours to come to the scene. They arrived when it was already dark. So I don’t know how to explain how we feel.”
