The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, have been petitioned to investigate 31 ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, of the Federal Government indicated by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts for financial infractions to the tune of N103.8 billion and $950,912.

The Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative, PLSI, made the call on Wednesday in a statement posted on X.

The petition followed the completion of a comprehensive review of the Auditor-General’s reports for 2019 and 2020 by the Public Accounts Committee, headed by Bamidele Salaam.

PLSI backed the House Committee’s resolution, which indicted 31 MDAs for financial infractions.

It further urged the anti-graft agencies to move swiftly to recover the unaccounted funds, largely bothering on procurement violations.

“This marks the first time since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999 that the federal legislative arm has completed such a comprehensive audit oversight—an important milestone for transparency, accountability, and democratic governance.

“We welcome the resolution by the House of Representatives to indict in financial infractions.

“Following the resolution of the Parliament, PLSI will petition the EFCC and ICPC to move swiftly to recover the unaccounted funds, bordering largely on procurement violations, internal control failures, unauthorised expenditures, and mismanagement.

“PLSI will ensure anti-corruption agencies do the needful to recover the funds,” PLSI stated.
