The 87-year-old Limpopo woman who was hacked to death, allegedly by her 40-year-old son, is being laid to rest at Sebora village, Ga-Mashashane outside Polokwane on Sunday.
Raesibe Ledwaba, was killed last week. Police say the body parts were found inside three plastic buckets. The discovery was made when police responded to a missing person’s complaint.
Ledwaba was reported missing to the police by a concerned neighbour who had not seen her for over two days. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a horrific scene where the remains were put inside buckets.
Polic also say several items allegedly used in the commission of the crime were also recovered. The accused and son of the deceased, Lesiba Ledwaba, has been remanded in custody. He is facing a charge of murder.
