The leaders of Britain, France, and Germany have jointly called on Iran to return to the negotiating table following overnight U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.
The heads of governments from the three European powers, in a statement, urged Tehran to avoid further actions that could escalate tensions in the region.
“We have consistently been clear that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon and can no longer pose a threat to regional security,” the statement read.
The leaders stressed the importance of diplomacy and urged Iran to engage in renewed negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement addressing all concerns related to its nuclear program.
The joint appeal comes amid rising fears of wider regional conflict following the U.S. decision to join Israel’s campaign against Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure.
