Explosion rocks Slovo Park neighborhood in Ekurhuleni – SABC Information

At least two people have been hospitalised following a powerful explosion that rocked the community of Slovo Park in Ekurhuleni earlier today.

Several homes were reduced to rubble in the blast, leaving families displaced and without shelter.

Authorities say the explosion is believed to have originated from a shack in one of the residential yards.

SAPS Gauteng Spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello says police are combing through the scene.

“The circumstances surrounding this incident will form part of the investigations. Explosive experts are on scene to sweep the place for any other explosive and also assist with investigations. Public Order Policing is also on the scene to monitor the situation”
