Police at Mossel Bay in the Western Cape have opened an inquest docket after an elephant trampled a 39-year-old man to death.
The deceased is an employee of a nearby game farm.
Police spokesperson Chris Spies says paramedics declared the man dead.
“Kwanonqaba police opened an inquest docket following an incident which led to the death of a 39-year-old man at a game reserve at Mossel Bay on Tuesday morning. Police were summoned to the scene following the incident.”
“On arrival they found a man with multiple injuries. He was later declared dead by paramedics on scene. The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.”
