Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has dismissed rumours circulating on social media regarding the health of his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, describing them as false and misleading.
Speaking on Friday during the July edition of Evening of Praise and Worship held at Lady Jibowu Hall in Ado-Ekiti, the governor clarified that the First Lady is in good health and had only been away briefly due to her academic leave from the University of Ibadan, where she serves as a senior lecturer.
“There is nothing wrong with my wife’s health. She was only on leave and has now resumed her duties at the university,” Oyebanji said.
He expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ekiti State chapter, Rev. Emmanuel Aribasoye, for what he described as an uplifting and personally encouraging sermon.
“I have learnt not to be distracted by rumours or negative comments. God is the one working in Ekiti, and all we are witnessing in the state is by His grace,” the governor added.
Oyebanji urged citizens to remain steadfast in their faith and continue trusting in God’s plan for the state.
Rev. Aribasoye, in his sermon titled ‘The Perfecter’, admonished believers to focus on God and resist the distractions of worldly concerns.
The governor’s message of hope and reassurance was well received by attendees, many of whom expressed renewed confidence in the administration’s commitment to the peace, progress, and development of Ekiti State.
