DJ Sumbody’s homicide weapon linked to 10 different high-profile instances – SABC Information

Police have confirmed that the firearms used in the murder of Oupa John Sefoka, more popularly known as DJ Sumbody, have been linked to at least 10 other high-profile murder and attempted murder cases.

This was heard outside the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court, north of Johannesburg, where four suspects appeared in connection with the DJ’s assassination.

Their case was postponed to next week Tuesday.

Businessman Katiso Molefe, together with his three co-accused, were arrested in Gauteng, yesterday afternoon.

DJ Sumbody and his two bodyguards were killed in a hail of bullets in Woodmead in November 2022.

National Police Spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, at the current stage, all four firearms including one AK47 is linked to at least 10 high profile cases which include murder as well as attempted murder.

Mathe says their team has been working vigorously on this particular investigation.

“The political killing task team has been working closely with the Gauteng Organised Crime Investigation Unit, and this is where their investigation has brought us today, where we got four suspects in custody. And we know that the same firearm that killed Arman Swart is the same firearm that killed DJ Sumbody and his two bodyguards,” adds Mathe.
