Bebe Cool
Renowned Afrobeat DJ and producer DJ Shinski is back with a powerful new mix that’s shaking up the global music scene.

Titled Break The Chains, the fresh drop sees the Nairobi-born, Houston-based maestro team up with Ugandan icon Bebe Cool to re-imagine standout tracks from Bebe’s Break The Chains album resulting in a genre-blending, pulse-pounding musical ride.

Shinski, who first caught the spotlight in Houston’s nightlife in 2014 before going full-time in 2019, has steadily built a name as a trailblazer in Afrobeat’s international rise. With accolades like AFRIMMA’s Best African DJ Shinski in the USA and a World DJ of the Year nod from the NEA Awards, his latest project only strengthens his global rep.

This isn’t your average mix. Break The Chains is a sonic mash-up of East African rhythms and global club culture, seamlessly fused together. Dj Shinski kicks things off with warm Afrobeat grooves and smooth builds, then takes listeners on a journey through reworked tracks like “Cheque,” “Boy Like Me,” and “Body Bounce” each layered with his trademark drops, tight transitions, and unpredictable twists.

More than just a playlist, the mix creates a vivid musical path starting in Nairobi’s buzzing dancehall, cruising through Kampala’s street sounds, and landing squarely on the dance floors of Houston’s nightlife scene.

Within hours of its release, fans from Kenya to Kampala to the U.S. were already calling it a “continental crossover masterpiece.”
