The Delta State House of Assembly is set for further hearing on the alleged indefinite suspension without pay of a staff member of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation, DPPC.

The petitioner, Joy Fasindor, submitted a petition to the Assembly three weeks ago.

In the petition, the suspended staff member of the corporation is seeking the intervention of the state lawmakers over the alleged indefinite suspension without pay.

The Assembly, which has deferred the matter to September 2, 2025, also confirmed that Fasindor had written to them regarding her alleged unlawful suspension without pay by the corporation.

This development comes as the State House of Assembly Committee on Public Petition failed to submit its report at its sitting today.

Deputy Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Public Petition and member representing Burutu II State Constituency, Hon Oloye Pereotu, prayed for more time to consider the petition.

He appealed for an extension, noting that September 2 this year would be sufficient for the committee to do the needful.

However, the roughly eight-week deferment may not be unconnected with the annual vacation of the House, which was announced today during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Hon Emomotimi Guwor.
