Following the death of his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, President Bola Tinubu has summoned an emergency Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
Tinubu said the meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, will have its session dedicated to Buhari.
The president’s summon was contained in a statement he personally signed.
Buhari passed away on Sunday at a London clinic, where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Tinubu said Buhari would be accorded full state honours during the emergency FEC meeting.
He said: “I have also summoned an emergency Federal Executive Council session on Tuesday, dedicated to his honour.
“The Federal Government will accord President Buhari full state honours befitting his towering contributions to our country.”
Tinubu prayed that God would forgive Buhari of all his shortcomings while he was alive.
Meanwhile, eminent Nigerians have been condoling the family of the late president and the Federal Government.
