Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday, had posted a tweet on his X account regarding the passing of renowned Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, also known as Aminu Dantata.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Buhari died at a London clinic where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

On June 28, 2025, Buhari, via his X account, posted a statement mourning Dantata, who died at the age of 94.

Buhari said Dantata “leaves behind a monumental legacy in philanthropy and entrepreneurship that reshaped the lives of people and business settings in the country and beyond.”

Recall that Dantata reportedly died around 3 am Nigerian time on Saturday, June 28 this year, at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, after a brief illness.

Meanwhile, Buhari will be buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, on Monday.

President Bola Tinubu has already mourned the passing of his predecessor.
