BREAKING: Awujale of Ijebu dies at 91

The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has died at the age of 91.
The revered monarch passed away on Sunday.

Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona was born on May 10, 1934.

Until his demise, he served as the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom, a traditional state in Nigeria.

He was installed as king on 2 April 1960, making him one of the longest-reigning monarchs in Nigeria. He was a member of the House of Anikinaiya.

His death came just hours after the announcement of the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, his long-time friend.

Buhari died in a clinic in London, United Kingdom, after battling illness for some time.
