New Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso has said that the Los Blancos will make a decision on which player will be the team’s penalty taker under his tenure.

Alonso replaced Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid’s new manager some weeks ago.

Ancelotti had left Real Madrid to take over the coach job of the national football team of Brazil.

Under Ancelotti, Kylian Mbappe was made Real Madrid’s new penalty taker after Vinicius wasted some penalties last season.

However, speaking at his pre-match interview ahead of Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup tie with Pachuca on Sunday night, Alonso insisted that he will make a final decision on Real Madrid’s new penalty taker before the 2025/26 season starts.

According to him, Real Madrid’s penalty taker will not be random thing.

“Penalty taker? We will make decisions on who shoots the penalty before the game starts.

“It will not be random,” Alonso said (via Madrid Zone).
