Alleged gang boss Booysen’s trial inside a trial relating to cellphone data continues on Tuesday – SABC Information

The trial within a trial regarding cellphone records in the case of alleged gang boss, Jerome Booysen is set to continue on Tuesday in the Western Cape High Court.

Booysen is disputing the use of information of intercepted phone calls during the trial for murder death of steroid kingpin Brian Wainstein.

Police obtained a court order for the tapping of his phone as they were investigating him for dealing in Mandrax.

The state wants to use that information in the murder trial.

The defence has objected citing that the authenticity of the phone calls cannot be confirmed as they can be manipulated.

Booysen and 12 others face a myriad of charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit public violence.
