The African Christian Democratic Party ( ACDP) says it has taken note of the interim implementation of the State Capture Commission report by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Presidency released and also submitted to Parliament a progress report on the implementation actions of the commission’s recommendations.
ACDP MP Steve Swart says more people who were implicated in the report must be arrested.
“The ACDP has taken note of this report and shares the pain and frustration expressed by former Chief Justice Raymond Zondo in having to swear in cabinet ministers with severe findings against them. More than one 1,400 persons implicated in the report ,and only 51 facing charges is deeply concerning as it negatively impacting on the public trust in such commissions of inquiry,” says Swarts.
He says the party is fed up with levels of corruption.
“We, like members of the public, are fed up with the widespread of theft and corruption and we would like to see far more people behind bars and the return of the billions of rands stolen. In order to do this the Hawks, IDEC and the NPA need more resources to ensure the speedy finalisation of this and other many cases they are dealing with.”
