Popular events promoter Abitex has officially cancelled the upcoming concert that was originally planned to celebrate Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone.
The concert, which had been tentatively scheduled for August 1st at Kololo Airstrip, was first teased months ago when Chameleone, while undergoing treatment in the USA, posted a cryptic image on social media with only a date, sparking speculation among fans about a comeback performance.
While no ticket prices or other details had been released, Abitex later confirmed he would be organizing the show. However, in a recent interview with Spark TV, he revealed that the plans have changed significantly.
“I have cancelled the concert that was meant to celebrate Chameleone and turned it into a general event featuring various artists,Chameleone is welcome to celebrate himself on a different date, either with a new promoter or by organizing it himself.”Abitex said.

When asked about the reason behind the shift, Abitex dismissed rumors of a personal dispute between him and Chameleone. Instead, he pointed to failed negotiations over payment.
“We didn’t argue or fall out but the amount of money he asked for was simply unrealistic. The truth is, the music industry no longer excites me. If I’m asked for an abnormal amount of money, I’d rather walk away.”,Abitex explained.
