4 suspects killed in shootout with police in Riverlea – SABC Information

Police say four suspects have died after a shootout with police at Riverlea, south of Johannesburg.

SAPS says in a statement that a crime intelligence-driven operation was conducted on Sunday after a business robbery in the Johannesburg CBD.

Officers attempted to stop the suspects at Riverlea and a shootout ensued.

Three suspects died on the scene and a fourth was later declared dead by paramedics.

Police say two unlicensed firearms were recovered along with stolen items.
