Four female passengers have been killed and several others injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned on the R81 at Ga-Sekgopo outside Polokwane in Limpopo.
Transport Department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says the injured, including a bus driver, have been taken to various hospitals.
According to reports, the bus was transporting ZCC members from around the Giyani area to Moria when it overturned on Saturday night.
Chuene says, “Reports indicate that the driver lost control of the bus, which subsequently overturned, sadly claiming the lives of four women. The passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries, while 45 others, including the driver, sustained minor injuries. They have been taken to Kgapane, Mankweng and Van Velden hospitals.”
