Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi, has become a free agent, which allows him to negotiate with any club despite having a contract with the MLS side until December 2025.

According to FIFA regulations, players within six months of their contract’s expiration can sign with another club.

As a result, Messi is now eligible to take advantage of the FIFA rule.

This development has sparked rumours of Messi’s potential departure from Inter Miami.

Al Hilal are reportedly preparing an official offer to lure the Argentina international to Saudi Arabia.

Messi’s unclear future is tied to his plans for next year’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
