After yesterday’s carnage among the seeded players at the Wimbledon Championships, there was a return to a semblance of normality at the All-England Club in London today.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the third round without any real trouble.

The Belarusian beat Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic 7-6, 6-4, while reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys is also through.

The sixth seeded American recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Serbian, Olga Danilovic.

In another second round match, Britain’s Sonay Kartal beat Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria in straight sets.
