Nigerian petroleum marketers have said they are on the verge of announcing a fresh price template from Wednesday after Dangote Refinery reduced its premium motor spirit ex-depot price to N840 from N880.

The president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday.

He told DAILY POST that Dangote Refinery has agreed to sell PMS at an ex-depot price of N842 per litre to its members.

Maigandi noted that this was the outcome of its emergency meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

However, he said that members of IPMAN would dispense petrol at different prices according to their respective locations.

“We have agreed with Dangote Refinery at an ex-depot price of petrol of N842 per litre. It is a good thing that the refinery reduced its price to N840 per litre,” he said.

Maigandi, however, said its members would decide on individual petrol prices from Wednesday.

Meanwhile, when DAILY POST correspondent went round Abuja, apart from Ranoil and Empire Energy filling stations, MRS, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Emadeb, and Total filling stations prices have remained unchanged at N945 per litre.

A manager at MRS filling in Abuja, who preferred anonymity said, “We are yet to receive a fresh price template after Dangote Refinery’s new price.”

Recall that Dangote Refinery reduced its ex-depot petrol price to N840 per litre on Monday from N880 amid a crude oil price drop.
