A jury has reached verdicts on four of the five counts faced by entertainment mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in his sex trafficking trial in New York, but the decisions have yet to be announced.
According to the judge overseeing the case, the jury reached verdicts on two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was unable to reach a consensus on the racketeering conspiracy charge.
Judge Arun Subramanian essentially told the 12 jurors to keep going.
The judge has since instructed the jury to keep deliberating on the outstanding charge after explaining that jurors had unpersuadable opinions on both sides of any consensus.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all five counts but could face lengthy prison terms if convicted of alleged federal crimes that include sex trafficking and a racketeering conspiracy charge.
In asking the jurors to continue deliberating, he reminded them that “no juror should surrender his or her conscientious beliefs for the purpose of returning a unanimous verdict.”
They will return to continue deliberations early Wednesday morning.
