Ogun State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Femi Soluade, has expressed optimism that the party, following the appointment of Senator David Mark as the interim national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola, as its national secretary, will unseat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.

DAILY POST reports that appointments of the former senate president and ex-governor of Osun state, were made at a high-level meeting of opposition leaders held in Abuja on Tuesday night.

The Ogun state chairman on Wednesday, in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Olumide Onabajo, described the appointment as a significant step to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Soluade maintained that their wealth of experience, dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals will enhance the party’s structure and vision for a brighter Nigeria.

He added that the state chapter is dedicated to making sure that ADC assumes control of Oke Mosan in 2027, and the leadership of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola will open that door for change.

He said, “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is thrilled to welcome the appointment of distinguished leaders Senator David Mark as the Interim National Chairman and His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun State, as the interim National Secretary of our great party.

“This strategic leadership coalition is a significant step towards our collective ambition to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level in the upcoming 2027 elections.

“We are confident that their wealth of experience, dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals will enhance our party’s structure and vision for a brighter Nigeria.

“We in Ogun State are fully committed to ensuring that the ADC takes over the reins of government at Oke Mosan in 2027. The citizens of Ogun State deserve progressive governance that reflects their aspirations, and we believe that under the leadership of Senator David Mark and His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, we will pave the way for this transformation”.

Soluade, assuring them of Ogun State’s complete support, called on all party members, supporters, and stakeholders to unite and create the groundwork for a better future for Ogun and Nigeria at large.
