Former uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu says several political parties have shown interest in the Mayibuye National Consultation Process.

Shivambu is addressing a media briefing in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Shivambu says, “More than 10 represented political parties that have approached us, represented in different municipal councils, who say that ‘they would want to form part of the Mayibuye Consultation process and these parties come from all corners of South Africa.”

“We’ve also received a list of volunteers through the online platform, which established a form that was filled out, to ask ordinary South Africans who have access to online or social media platforms to say they should volunteer.”

He adds: “We are deeply humbled by the confidence of those who came forward and pledged solidarity and volunteered their time for the consultation process which we are embarking on.”
