Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Umar Damagum, on Wednesday directed the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu resume his duties at the National Secretariat in Abuja.

Damagum gave the directive during a press briefing at the party’s Wadata Plaza National Secretariat.

He said the planned 100th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting has been canceled due to issues with the party’s constitution.

Damagum said PDP will convene a National Caucus meeting on June 30th.

“Anyanwu is resuming as the National Secretary. At the next Caucus, we will make a decision leading to a proper NEC. Like INEC said, they don’t have our notice, so we will have an extended caucus meeting on June 30,” Damagun said.

This is coming after a PDP high-powered delegation met with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the lingering crisis on the position of its National Secretary.
